RichTech Showcase Nanjing Travel Resources with New Interactive Multimedia Solutions
Nanjing
is one of the greatest travel destinations in the world, but more people need
to know why this is such a nice place to go. To aid a client in promoting this
area and providing a helpful travel resource, RichTech developed a new
interactive multimedia solution that enhances Nanjing’s design and promotion
abilities. Through the use of this technology, customers and clients can see
first-hand the way classic and modern culture is mixed in the delightful land
of Nanjing.
LCD
screen solution
When
RichTech began to implement construction on this new interactive multimedia
solution, the goal was to showcase the many different activities and options
available in Nanjing. This includes shopping, food and drink, recreation,
sightseeing, accommodation and traffic. The use of multiple LCD screens along
with interactive controls allows clients to view these aspects of Nanjing as
though they were standing right on the city streets. By touching an area they
want to view, the client can bring up additional menus and previews of the
areas they want to explore more in-depth. With a few simple touches, a person
can preview their destinations and thus know that they will get exactly what
they want when they visit.
Touch
solution
The
second interactive media solution product showcases the popular Yihe block of
Nanjing specifically. People using the solution can view each tourist
attraction from multiple different camera angles, allowing them to zoom in,
check out different perspectives, and then decide if they want to explore
further. The options selected are displayed on one of two screens: the arc
screen, which provides a grand overview, and the sand table, which provides a
detailed model of the specific attraction. This is a perfect way to allow a
tourist to explore while also providing valuable education, giving background
and interesting facts that a simple trip through the block would not be able to
touch upon.
Why does
the new interactive multimedia solution provide an advantage over traditional
tourism models? Because RichTech has made sure to adapt with the times in order
to meet the needs of the client. More and more people prefer the use of
smartphones and mobile devices that give them executive ability on the go. The
design and plan strength of this model is that it caters to that attitude –
instead of telling customers where they might want to go, it allows people to
delve in and make their own choices directly. The interactive multimedia
solution allows the public to have a more directive expression when making
travel choices, and this will ensure that areas that use this technology
generate more interest and more visits.
Overall,
the interactive multimedia solution is a perfect piece of technology for people
who like to have executive ability in making travel decisions. This technology
can easily be adapted to a variety of different areas in order to meet the
needs of a specific client. Some areas where this could happen include service
centers, museums, and shopping malls. As always, RichTech is often looking to
use their technology in new and innovative ways.

Interactive technology allows interactive projections to transform any floor into an interactive surface
Have you ever wondered how it would feel, if every step you walked on a floor, gave it a new appearance. Designs and animations start to fling by as you move your feet on the floor. And, remember we’re not talking about the normal disco floors you see around. Those are only capable of changing colors and lights, these interactive floor projections are much more intuitive and take you to another level of interactive experience.
The underlying technology, allows interactive projections to transform any floor into an interactive surface. Images are projected from above the floor, where a camera and infra-red light source is mounted for capturing the feet and body movements of the person walking over the floor. Corresponding to these movements, projections are reflected on the surface of the floor.
The technology of interactive floors has already started to penetrate some specific segments, especially in the fields of entertainment, gaming, and marketing. To give you a more specific picture, read below about the prevalent uses of interactive floor projections.
1. Clubs and Casinos
Although most of us have seen dance floors change colors and light, but that is ancient now. The new technology of interactive floors is giving this old hag a hard time. Discs and casinos now employ interactive projection floors have, where floors are synchronized with music and change their appearance in correspondence to the body movements.
2. Gaming
While you and your kids have enjoyed sitting on stationary bikes and car dummies and handled steerings to control them, it is now time for enjoying real time outdoor games, like football using the interactive surfaces or floors. Sensitive to your weight and touch, you simply have to kick virtual balls on the floors by sliding along your feet play interesting matches. Yes there still remains space constriction, but for personal use the surface is great. You can turn your living room surface into a game field and turn it back into a living room, once the game is over.
3. Marketing tool
Tools like the interactive floor projections are indeed rapidly changing how companies plan their marketing activities, with a prominent attraction for real estate, architecture firms and design firms. For example one needs to choose their floor tiles; manufacturers and sellers can project the floor options in real-time helping consumers to make a more informed purchase decision.
4. Entertainment
While 3D and 5D experiences are exhilarating consumers with a new type of awe, the next best personal entertainment experience can be derived from interactive projection floors. These floors are available in the form of square tiles, which when put together as a floor surface will allow display of a vast number of effects, both sound and visual in response to the body and feet movement of the person on the floors.

How about transforming your own home into a discotheque this Valentine?
The lover’s day – Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Everyone
I know, in love or not, is planning a party with their Valentine’s on
those interactive floors of the discos etc. There are others who don’t
have a Valentine and are sitting self-centered, waiting for a miracle to
happen in their lives.
Now, amid all these, there are also a few guys and gals, who, either governed by social stigma, or their own shyness, are not in a shape to take their Valentine’s out on a date to a discotheque or a pub.
How about transforming your own home into a discotheque this Valentine, to relive yourself of all the hassles of public drama in the pubs etc.? Sounds a great idea to us, you say you’re convinced too? Well then, we are on the same page. Now, there is a chance you’ve transformed your apartment into a disco on numerous occasions in the past with lots of flicker lighting, great DJ console playing your favorite tracks, coupled with some extraordinary food, hmmm!

The expression on his/her face will be beyond words we guarantee. Valentine’s Day is already the most exciting day for your love.
See the delight on the your lover’s face as the floor projection invites you both to play, swirl or dance on it – it’s up to you. The interactive floor projection theater (the setup) also projects 3D images, which make you feel as if you were actually on the waves (of water in projected on the walls) or floating in the clouds (if clouds are projected). RichTech Introduces Custom Virtual Fitting Mirror
Technology can make clothes shopping much easier than it used to be, and RichTech has taken a step to simplify the process even further. Using the Kinect system, the company has introduced a virtual fitting mirror that allows shoppers to try on clothing and accessories without having to actually put them on in the store. The fitting mirror means that a person can plan out a shopping trip from the comfort of home, greatly streamlining the entire experience.
Gaining a Competitive Advantage
In a world where people can shop anywhere they want and at any time they want by going to online outlets, stores that rely on in-store sales are having issues keeping up. For those businesses, the fitting mirror can be a major boon. This allows customers to preview exactly what they would look like in a variety of different styles and sizes for any popular fashion on sale. The virtual mirror uses a combination of hardware and software to set up a dressing effect that is remarkably realistic. Customers are more likely to purchase a product if they can fit the shopping spree into their schedule, so having a technological option that gives these previews is a major competitive advantage of businesses.
Features of the Mirror
Rather than having to try on clothes physically, customers can use the RichTech fitting mirror by simply pushing the function button in the air. The built-in HD camera then creates a virtualization of the customer’s body and superimposes a 3D image of the garment, thus creating an accurate preview. This allows customers to browse more quickly and find what they want with just a few quick gestures in the air. Customers can preview themselves from the front and the back simultaneously and will also be given the information of the clothes, such as price, material, and so on while they are trying the outfits out. With more options to choose from at a faster pace, customers are more likely to make a purchase.
Customization for Different Businesses
The fitting mirror has a variety of different applications that can be used by all sorts of businesses. For example, amusement parks can provide several unusual, exotic, or silly outfits that patrons can try on. Stores that offer famous brands can reduce the length of the waiting queue by offering a way for customers to preview themselves in different outfits without having to worry about lines to the fitting rooms. RichTech is also happy to customize the product to fit other people’s needs, so if you want a fitting mirror that comes in a different color, size, or has some other unique feature, this can be accomplished. The only limit to this product is your imagination.
The virtual fitting screen is yet another way in which technology is able to make life easier for both consumers and businesses. RichTech can customize this new product to fit any need, be it for business or entertainment, and is always looking to create the next big technological innovation.

Recycling education with an interactive floor projection game
The Recycling Interactive Floor Projection Game educates players about different recyclable materials and how they can be identified.
Located some thirty-eight kilometers north west of Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage was historically known as the ‘garden town’ of the Eastern Cape.
Over the years, as its population has expanded, waste has become a visible problem in the area. From litter and river pollution to pressure on landfills, Uitenhage is no longer the green town of its past.
The good news is that the umbrella development vehicle called the Uitenhage Despatch Development Initiative, or UDDI, has begun to change all this. The UDDI is essentially a task force of business, government, labour and community. They’ve recognized that a healthy economy is reliant on a healthy community.
Together they are driving environmental awareness and social upliftment projects to support a steadily blossoming economy. And the key is education. As part of a permanent exhibition in the Nelson Mandela Science Centre, the UDDI challenged Formula D interactive, a Cape Town based design company to design an edutainment application that teaches young people to separate waste and learn about the benefits of recycling.
The Recycling Floor Projection Game helps to promote recycling and teach players fundamental concepts in a fun and interactive way. The Recycling Game educates players about different recyclable materials and how they can be identified.
A large interactive image is projected onto the floor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Science Centre. Using a real broom, players sort different types of virtual waste items and sweep them into the correct waste containers in the corners of the projected image. Glass can be swept into the glass container, paper into the paper container and so forth.
Players’ movements are captured using infrared camera tracking technology. With each movement, the projection responds accordingly.
For every correct placement, players score a point. The Recycling game is timed and players are encouraged to score as many points as possible in the set time limit. They literally have to think on their feet!
Between each game are memorable audio ‘take-home messages’ about recycling facts and figures.
When recycling is presented as a fun and exciting game, it becomes much more likely that players will return to their communities with valuable lessons on how to reduce their own waste. And hopefully, one of these days, real-world benefits of The Recycling Floor Projection Game will be seen in a cleaner, greener Uitenhage.
